Mitchell, late president of the United
Mineworkers of America,' today an
nounced that he will establish and
operate In this city, a dally paper de
voted to the Interests of the laboring
classes.
"One of the principal objects of the
publication will be the furtherance oi
peace between the miners and opera
tors," declared Mitchell.
This announcement sets at rest the
rumored appolntement by President
Xtoosevelt of Mr. Mitchell, to gathei
data and other statistics relative to the
Panama canal.
