HAY, GRAIN, WOOD
Following- the announcement of
David Ecclee yesterday, which ap
peared in last evening's Issue of the
Herald, comes Indications that very
soon the Snake river country will
show signs of returning; life in a Way
that will make all Interested In east
ern Oregon and western Idaho abund
antly happy.
George . C. Thompson, who has
charge of the work for the Utah Con
struction company, is In Baker City
today arranging for supplies to be
sent to the Snake river country, says
the Herald. He informed a reporter
for the Herald that a shipment of
Powder was on the way and upon its
arrival the quiet atmosphere would be
excited along the Snake river by the
continuous blasting as workmen dug
their way Into the mountains and
made openings through which the
trains of commerce would later hurry
as they carried their cargo from east
ern points to the Pacific coast. Mr.
Thompson will leave this evening for
Huntington and from there to point
of operation on the Snake.
. n. O msu, manager of the Ox
bow tunnel project, was in Baker to
day. It will be remembered that Mr.
O'Dell succeeded Mr. Wlnslow as man
ager of this great undertaking. Work
has been going on continuously at the
Oxbow, but now that the railroad
work will be resumed It Is understood
more men will be employed on the
power project and the vicinity of
Homestead and Copperfleld will be
alive, with working people who earn
good wages, making business In that
part of the country as good as any
place In the northwest.
We have in stock a lot of fine timothy, wild, grain and
alfalfa hay, bought before the price advanced. We are
selling this hay at low price, quality guaranteed.
iy1 We'buy and sell oats, barley and mill stuff ofjall kinds.
