Bishop Robert L. Paddock reached
Baker City last night from New York,
and will henceforth be in charge of
the Eastern Oregon Episcopal diocese.
In Ls Orande Friday.
Next Friday the bishop will visit La
Grande and remain here for a week.
Hence La Grande will be given an op
portunity of hearing the Episcopal
dignitary. In the Interim, he will
acquaint himself with Baker City's
parish and parishioner. t
The subject of his permanent loca
tion in eastern Oregon la undecided.
It is believed by La Grande Episcopali
ans that he will use Baker City, La
Grande and Pendleton as sectional
territorial headquarters for several
months and not confine himself to
any one of the three larger cities of
eastern Oregon for some time yet.
The ladies' guild of this city has
furnished rooms in the rectory for the
bishop's exclusive' use, and whenever
Bishop Paddock Is in the city he will
occupy these rooms,
kuk, Iowa, while the other waa from
aear Minneapolis.
Their route, which had been map
ped out for them before leaving home.
Included a trip to Yakima, so they
left for that piace last evening. From
there they will go to Portland and
the coast and will probably return to
Pendleton next week. Pendleton East
