The Boise Capital News says of the
organization of the La Follette club
at that place Saturday night:
A permanent organization of the
Idaho La Follette club was perfected
laat night In the council chambers of
the city hall, when over 60 admirers
of the Wisconsin senator assembled,
adopted resolutions indorsing him for
the presidency, elected officers and
decided to put workers In the field
throughout the county to boom his
candidacy. '
A preamble was added to the reso
lutions adopted to Indorse the policies
of President Roosevelt. It was also
decided to place the membership fee
at 60 cents per month during March
and April and thereafter 25 cents.
Regular meetings of the club will be
held every two weeks In the city hall.
Following are the resolutions adopt
ed: Idaho republicans, believing in the
principles of equal rights to all and
Bpecial privileges to none, believing
In a representative government, and
having abounding faith In tho ability
and sincerity of Senator Robert M. La

to studying the needs and defects in
our system of government, a man who
has defended the cause of the people
with that wonderful weight of con
vincing argument of which he Is mas
ter, a man whose unselfish patriotism
and unyielding integrity peculiarly fits

would fill with so much credit to him
self and lasting honor and benefit to
the nation, and believing that he rep
resents and stands for the best inter
ests of the people, that he comes
nearer than any other to being the
people s Ideal candidate, that he Is
better fitted than any other to carry
forward successfully the reforms pro
mulgated by President Roosevelt, we
pledge him our support and the use
of all honorable means to promote his
candidacy for the present of these
United States in this locality, this
county, this state and the nation.

Troy, N, T.. Feb. 26. A two-mile
relay race between the crack, runners
of Cornell and Pennsylvania will be
the star event of the big athletic meet
to be held at the state armory tomor
row night This meeting will be es
pecially Interesting from the fact that
Cornel defeater the University of
Pennsylvania in a most sensational
three-cornered relay race at the Bos
ton Athletic association meet at Bos
ton, Mass., making the remarkable
time of seven minutes and fourteen
seconds, which Is four-fifths of a sec
ond short of the world's record held by
Tale track team of 1906. Dartmouth
was the third team in thj,race.

Dedicate Fraternal Hall Soon.
Preparations for the dedication ot
the Fraternal building on Friday
night, February 28th, are well under
way and the various committees have
been kept busy some time past. This
Is expected to be the largest gathering
of fraternal people ever held In Wal
lowa county, as every member of the
I. O. O. F. and K. of P. lodges In the
county have been Invited to come and
bring his lady. The banquet commit
tee Is prepared to feed an enormous
crowd and it Is thought that not less
than 600 people will be present. En
