portant date In the La Grande Odd
Fellow circles, as that Is the date upon
which Grand Master Richard Scott of
Portland, is to officially visit the lodge
here.
The grand master la slated for an
address and It la to be heard by rep
resentatives of every lodge In the
city, if Invitations extended are ac
cepted, which they no doubt will be.
The Odd Fellows of La Grande will be
out In force, and augmented by other
lodge representatives, the visiting Odd
Fellow should face a large crowd.
At the close of the address, a ban
quet of considerable elaborateness Is
to be given. Committees are working
on these lines now.

Wood Notice.
Notice is hereby given that the
district school board of school dis
trict No. 1 of Union county, Oregon,
will receive up to 4 o'clock p. m., of
March 5, 1908, sealed bids for fur
nishing said school district No. 1 with
150 cords of four-foot split, yellow
pine and red fir wood, said wood to
be cut while green and not later than
June 1st, 1908, free from large knots
and acceptable to said school board.
Said wood to be delivered, 135 cords
at high school building, five cords at
White school, and 10 cords at Fourth
ward school, and to be corded up
neatly and closely where directed by
board. Fifty cords to be delivered by
July 1st, and all on or before August
15, 1908. Bids to be left with school
clerk. Board reserves the right to re
ject any or all bids.
