Money From Fingers Undetected.
La Grande has been visited by a
short-change artist who is so clever
that his victims scarcely know what
happen, except that they are one dol
lar shy on a two-dollar transaction In

stung" say the man lays down a $2
note and on receiving change after
buying drinks or cigars, manages in
some way to flim-flam the unsuspect
lng merchant. Reports have it that
he is one of the smoothest seen in
years. No complaints have been made
to the police, as those caught are loth
to plead guilty to having been caught
napping.
