George Hough, who was seriously
scalded In an accident to a freight en
gine at Echo recently, was brought to
La Grande last evening from St. An
thony's hospital at Pendleton, and
taken to the Hough residence.
His face and body was carefully
bandaged, and his Pendleton physl
clans agreed that the trip home would
not affect him. He was able to walk
from the train to the cab last eve

Dr. C. T. Bacon dressed the burns
this morning and reports the patient

noon that Editor J. C. Olover of the
Union Republican, is improving today.
He has suffered with pneumonia for
the past week and last evening took a
rally after keeping his physicians and
friends In constant suspenses for sev
eral hours. All hopes had been given
up for his recovery during the after
noon.
Dr. M. K. Hall was called to' Union
and after treating the suffering man
with abnormal doses of stimulants, re
turned to La Grande, leaving his pa
tient beyond recovery.
