Missionary Meeting.
Yesterday afternoon the ladles of
the Methodist church held their mis
sionary meeting. at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. G. L. Cleaver. The topic for
consideration was the Industrial mis
sions in Africa. Those who were as
signed various phases of the work
were Mrs. J. W. Knowles, Mrs. G. C.
Osburn, Mrs. J.D. Glllllan and Mrs.
J. -A. Whitby. There was a splendid
attendance and a most profitable af
ternoon was the result. At the con
clusion of the literary portion of the
program refreshments were served.
The dedication of the First Baptist
church is set for March 29. The oc
casion is being well planned and will
be an event of note In La Grande life

In a letter to the East Oregonlan
Congressman Ellis says that the exact
location of the experimental farm of
40 acres on the Umatilla irrigation
project will be about one mile north
of Hermlston and will Include the
northeast quarter of the northeast
quarter of section 3, township 4, range
28. Congreeman Ellis has the assur
,ance of the agricultural department
that active work on the erperlmental

was that he found his brother, whom
