O H
One lone populUt has registered for
the primaries In Union county. This
morning the official registration
stood: lit republicans 133 democrat!.
il socialists, t Independent. l prohl
bltionlsts. This bring the total reg
istration to 4(7. or, one-ninth of the
total voting strength of the county,
based on figures of the last election.
,County Clerk Gtlham and his dep.
utlea feel fairly satisfied over the
strength of the registration at this
time. Notwithstanding that the books
are now In the court house, there are
a few registration dally, but the
coming term of circuit court will swell
the. books with names considerably,
as many voters are then attracted to
the court house and will take advan
tage of the opportunity to get on the
rolls.

Denver, Col., Jan. 15. There will
be no lack of telegraph wires by which
to spread the glad tidings of the nom
ination of Bryan when the democratic
national convention meets here next
summes The telegraph companies
and the various news gathering agen
cies are already at work, preparing
for the many additional wires which
will be necessary to handle the busi
ness. Connection will be made with
the main Pacific trunk lines of the
telegraph companies and railroad
wires will also be pressed Into service
during the convention. An army of
linemen is already here to Install the
plant at the auditorium and string
the additional wires. It is expected
that not less than 800 newspaper rep
resentatives will be here from all
over the country, and there will be
keen competition between the big
news associations and newspapers.
