More evidence of the ever-expand
ing thrift of La Grande aa a business
center, Is given by data compiled by
It. F. Massee, local agent for the Pa
cific Express company.
His report for the year ended De
cember II, shows that freight ship
ments for the year 1907 exceeded
those of the year 1900 by 13862.25.
When It Is taken Into consideration
that this amount is for freight rev
enue alone, or In other words, simply
packages sent and received. It is pos
itive proof that business Is expanding
in this city. The figure given does
not Include the revenues from money
orders, which are also much higher
this year than previously.
