With Hall Is associated Wlnlock W.
Stelwer as' co-defendant. Hall Is
charged with a conspiracy for Illegal
fencing, In which 18,360 acres of pub

a livestock corporation as a pasture.
The morning's session was consumed
In preliminary motions. Veniremen

In the afternoon for examination.
Heney charged Hall with obstruct

the land-frauders,' and finally had him
dismissed from office. Hall has al

Is expected that the trial will Inst
about two weeks and that fully 80
witnesses will be examined.
Unexpected Icml Complication.
A motion for a separate trial made
by John Hall, over two years ago, be
fore the late Judge Bellinger, and a
motion for a plea In abatement was
made by Franklin P. Mays, at the
same time, was found on the docket
this morning by Judge Hunt, and
these will have to be disposed of be
fore Francis J. Heney can get down
to the real work of trying Hall on the
charge of conspiracy and land fraud.
The motions In both cases had been
forgotten by both sides. Judge Bel
linger died before he ruled upon them
and the cases had dragged along ever
since that time.
Both Hall and Mays took until to
