Mr. and Mrs. George L. Cleaver en
tertained at the first meet'ng of the
Good Fellowship league, a social or
ganisation of the Methodist church, fit
their home last evening at a "Twelsth
nl(?ht party," an old English custom.
As near as possible the old customs
were carried out. The house was
beautifully decorated and at the ton
elusl in of the evening the rooms were
shorn of their decorations and they
were burned In the presence of the
guests as was the way In old English
times. A cake was cut In which was
baked a bean and the person who was
fortunate enough to get the bean was
made king or queen. Mr. Blum was
the lucky one. He ns placed on a
chair and raised to the celling by four
men, where he made n cross which
was the emblem of good luck for him

then plftccrt on a throne and the sub
jects were made to serve him and do
his bidding. When It came time for
lunch snowballs were given to the
gentlemen who then threw them at the
ladles Ihe lady being hit becomlne

fins time.
