H. W. Barr. Salem, Ore.
Send name of the three Optician ex
amined April 1 1, 1906, Salem. Oregon
Telegraph, my expense, important.
0. M. Heacock
And received the following from Barr:
To O. M. Heacock, La Grande, Ore.
Heacock,, Hambler, Pons. Pons pass
ed examination in Portland last month.
(Signature) H. W. Barr.
Now I say that we were all three in
troduced, took examination in the same
room, went to lunch together, and were
together all tha afternoon, while the
board was looking over our examination
papers. And yet he "Never knew 0. M.
Heacock, jeweler and optician, or never
knew there was such a man in existence,
until he came to town this time." This
telegram also shows that Pons was exam
ined April 1 1, 1906, and failed, and again
took the examination and passed, as I
stated in my article in Thursday evening's
paper ..,,
And yet hi consider himself a special
ist above the average optician as ba
stated.
Now about tha lent grinding. 1 will
say that Mr. Pon gets his lensss already
ground the same as any of your home
opticians excepting that they are not
ground on tha edges, this he does
and gives the impression that he is
grinding the surfaces for his particular
patients. This amount of grinding can .be
done on an ordinary grindstone by any
person of an hour's experience in grind
ing. 0. M. Heacock, jeweler and obtician.
