In th face of th widespread hostility
that prevail toware the Mormon xhurch,
chiefly because of the doctrine of polygamy
which has been fn the past and ltelievd
by many still to be 'one of its principal
features,' the zeal of Its members,' "spec

The lack of general interest taken in
the Sunday Schools throughout the country

Figures recently appearing in a news
paper item showing the percentage of in
crease among 'Various 'refigkws bodies
during the 1 6 years from 1 890 to 1 906
were as follows: Catholic' 7"4 r'cent;
Episcopal, 62; Lutheran, 49; Methodist,
40, r Congregational, $6; Baptist, it. th
rMormons are said to have increased dur
ing the sam period at the aniazing rat
of 107 per cent, and the raason advanced
is that they have th best Sunday School

The Mormon parents make it a duty to
see that their children are regular in at
tendance at Sunday School. Among other
denominations the Subject 'appears to be a
matter of entire unconcern to a large pro
portion of the parents, and their disregard
of the Sunday School quickly descends to
th children! In the Mormon Sunday
Schools there are 40 per cent more men
teachers than womsn, while in th Oentil
churches of the land the relative propor
tion is reversed. The woman male prob
