Do Osteopaths treat skin diseases? In
deed, Yes. And they treat them in a
manner so rational, so well within the
comprehension of the patient, so certain
to be beneficial that their method is with
out a doubt the way par excellence.
It is generally recognized by authorities
that skin troubles are the result of some
other evil condition in the body usually a
bad condition of some one or more J the
excretory orgins or else they result from
a local disturbance of the blood circula
tion. Some times causes of both these
kinds are operative. '
In the vast majority of eruptions it is
quite safe to say that what is coming out
through the skin is simply doing to be
cause the organs designed to carry it off
from the body are behind with their work.
The skin normally has vast amount of
excretory work to do; but, when the liver.
or kidneys, or intestines are unequal to
the body, the skin ie apt to be called upon
for an amount of work that it Is unable
to perform in its usual way and we have
an eruption. It is a distinctly friendly oc
currence, simply indisating that the body
ie making a determined effort to get rid
of what it ought to be rid of. .
The Osteopath always looks for trouble
with the excretory organs in these eases
and usually finds it aod succeed in cor
recting it He ie thus getting at the root
of the evil; and when the work of- excre
tion is again being earned on in the nor
mal way the abnormal effort to accomplish
excessive excretion : through the ekin
ceases. .
The number of cases in which th
trouble is solely a local one is .'ot great
in comparison to the number in 'which the
other excretory organe are at least partly
at suit. It is circulation that is ftt fault;
and the natural question that arises i as
to what is interfering with th circulation
to th particular part affected. Ciroula
tion is under control of nerves; and the
Osteoyath knows just where to look for
misadjustmsnt that ' could affect the
nerves controlling circulation to th part.
mis xnowieage or in nerve that con
trol circulation, of th ' various way in
hich they may be interfered within their
work, and of tb mechanical mean of do
ing away with these interferences, is th
secret of much of the Osteopath's success
n treating skin diseases, just as it is the
secret of hit success in th', treatment of
many other kinds of diseas. ' t
This exclusively Osteopathic work is of
court aceimpanied by needful instruc
tion as to diet, bathing, etc; and th re
sults ar xcllnt. Right Way.
