this morning to quench a burning pile of
pole near Fowler's wood yard. ' The
poles have been lying in close proximity

causing the call out. There was no loss
of any consideration.

son is a fireman out of this city and will
return to this city within the month.

The most elaborate social event of the
new year, was that given Ust evenin
by Misses Marine Rieth and Eve'yne
Rohan at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. L.
Meyers, to the Four Hundred and One
Club. About twenty-five guests were
entertained by playing at Five H urdred
and which George Harrr.ond of Perry and
Mrs. Robert Newlin, won first prize. A
delightful contest, a musical guessing
affair, furnished much amusement. Miss
Moina Aikine won the first prize in this
game.
The Meyers' home was tastily decora t
ed in missletoe and holly. Light refresh
ments were served.
