Mr. Fred Fox came up from Corvallis to spend the holidays at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Carl Peterson. Miss Alice Jones epent Saturday and Sunday in La Grande visiting friends. Eddie, the ten year old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Oraham, who has been suff ering with a carbuncle, Is much better. The guests at Hot Lake were enter tained by a beautiful Christmas tree Christmas eve. The warm south wind has melted al the snow, and caused Ladd creek to be unusually high for this time of year. Farmers are out filling the irrigating ditches to prevent the overflow of their land. Supt. E. E. Bragg visited the Ladd Canyon school last week. Mr. Chtrlie Berg, of Hot Lake spent Christmas at the home of Mr. Frank Counsell. The next literary meeting will be called to order Dec. 28.
