Jaohn Nauer. a Ditcher who did excellent work amongst the up state clubs last year has alto signed. To put Columbia! craws on the river last year cost $8,804. To meet this the receiett totalled $8,570. decree Bothner and Denis Gallaher will meet in $500 wrestling bout in New York on January 1 1 th. The Texas baseball leairua has olaced the salary limit at $1600. O. A. C. TO PLAY PENDLETON The P;!'n T nmn Agricultural College wilt meet the High School quintet on the letter's court on the evening of December 51, New Year'e eve. Th teem is on its annual tour of th Northwest, and will arrive hare from Seattle on Monday afternoon. Th O. A. C. team was the champion five of Oregon last year having an unbroken record of victories to their credit. Among their contestants were the Chicago Meteors, who made a trip of sixty-three games last ssason and were defeated in but seven instances, O. A. C. being one of the victors. The sam team will meet the local High School Monday, and though the Pendleton team can hardly expect to win, they are determined to play against their lines and make the college men earn what points they make. Pendleton Tribune. Young Corbett and Tommy Murphy have signed articles for a six round con test at the National A. C. Club Philadelp hia on Jan. 9. They are to divide 70 per cent of th gat receipts. Both are in excellent condition and the contest should be a good one. Battling Nelson is going to Europe where h will Join his trainer Silly Nolan. He will be accompanied by his father whom he intends to start in business in Copenhagen his nativ place. It is not improbable that Nelson will do some ex hibition work in the big English cities. Another fighter has been "bust". Joe Grim told a magistrate in Pittsburg th other day that he was scooped of $150 in a poker game and was clean broke. A testimonial will be given to Terry McGovern, who has gone insane, in Madi son Square Garden, New York on Janu ary 23rd.
