Batesville, Ark.. Dec 21. Mr. Arthur
Herbert, an English scientist, who has
been investigating the ravages of the boll
weevil in Southern cotton fields announced
that he has discevered a simple remedy
to destroy the pest His plan simply is
to grow tobacco plants among the cotton
and he now states that after three years
investigation he has found that the weevil
will not live in the vicinity of tobacco. All
growers can utilize this discovery without
expense and with no additional labor than
is required to produce the cotton.
