THEY'D RATHER HAVE
LNCLE JOSH
Ur.cle Josh Spruceby" was played to a
medium sized house last evening. "At
time the ""reubenness" Of the play was
really humorous, and the songs by the
leading feminine character were good. On
the whole the caste of characters was not
over!y strong. During the first act. some
one intending to play a practical joke, in
closed an alarm clock in several wrap
pings of paper and started thenoise. The
perpetrator doubtless underestimated the'
disturbance the joke would cause, for the
first ict was more or"less marred by the
noise coming from within the box. Later
the noise was revived but the actor who
happened to be on the boards, suspended
business long enough to order th ejection
of the disturber.
