ISLAND CITY WINS
Isiand City yesterday tied another scalp
to tiier list of dangling victories
when they tr.mmed up Elgin, at the
latter' field to tne tune of ten to noth
ing. The field at Elgin was snowy and slip
pery, causing frequent fumbles, and stum
ping, isiand City repeated her former
tricks in the first minute of play, that
of scaring on a fumble. Island City kicked
off to E'gin but a fumble soon gave the
oan to island ot E'gin's fifteen yard line
and it was short work to carry it over.
For a considerable length of time after
the first score it was even money in the
field. Both Sides Dunted fmnnanHii nrl
some nice work was exiibited in .the ex
change. Distance of punts were about
equal. Walters cot awav several tim
maki ' the loncest runs for his tm
Two runs in Quick succession earrmd th
ball from E'gin's fifty-five yard line, over
the goal. The last run was rather spec
tacular. Walters, starting at the fifty-five
yara line, ran around right end for thirty
yards and was downed on the side lines.
A fake fullba k run around left end, ended
behind the posts making the score ten to
nothing.
The plays were slow in getting started,
but once on, they were on in earnest No
scores were registered in the second half.
Eigin showed more ginger in the last half
and in the last fifteen minute made things
most awfully interesting for the visitors.
Jake Halgarth, quarter for the Elgin -
ites, caught a punt behind his goal post.
in the first half and ran itout thirtv vards.
making the longest run of the day for hi
team.
This makes the third time that Island
City has vanquished the Elginites, and
gives them an undisputed claim on their
prowess.
Spence at end and Walters at full
starred for the visitors. Nevertheless, all
the visitors played a consistent and strong
game. Arnold for Elgin was continually
breaking thru the line and doubtlessly was
the strongest man on his team. Walters
was injured in the second half and had to
withdraw.

Ho asked the concress to consider if
