Philadelphia, Pa. Nov. 17. All previous
existing records in the production of steel
rails in this or any other country have
been broken during the past month in this
state. One furnace at Shaion turned out
128.134 tons alone and the Clairton
works of the Carnegie Steel Company
have again broken ingots making 68.000
last month as against 65.000 in any
other month since the , furnaces were
started. The Clairton plant consists cf
1 2 open hearth furnaces of 60 tons capa
city. One of chese furm ces is on acid
steel, and natural gas is used making it
possible to run all the furnaces uninter
ruptedly during the month.

of an execution and order of sale and
decree of foreclosure and sale issued out
of and under the seal of the Circuit Court
of the state of Oregon, for the county of
Union, bearing date the 14th day of
November, 1906. And to rre directed
and delivered upon a judgement and de
cree duly rendered, entered of record and
docketed in said court on the 5th day of
juiio, lauu, hi in suit wherein P. A,
McDonald, Administrator of the estate of
John Morrison, deceased, was plaintiff
and T. J. Millspaugh, Belle M illspaugh,
and John Anthony, were defendants, said
judgement being in favor of said plaintiff
and against said defendants, fcr the sum
of $367 with 8 per cent interest thereon
from said Eth day of Juni, 1906, and the
further sum of $50, attorney's fees, to
gether with $20 for costs and disburse
ments, I will on the 17th day of Decem
ber, 1906, at 2 o'clock p m of said day,
at the front door of the Court house in the
city of La Grande, Oregon, sell at public
auction, to the highest bidder for cash, to
satisfy said plaintiff's judgement, inter
est, attorney's fees, costs, disbursements
and accruing costs, all the right, title and
interest that the said defendants and each
of them had on or after the date of the
mortgage foreclosed in said suit, in and
to the north half of lots 1 and 2 in Block
No. 9, in Honan's Addition to the city of

Portland, Nov. 1 7. Reports from all
the flood stricken districts, tend to show
that the floods are subsiding. The Will
amette is stationary, and the small
streams are thought to have ceased to
rise. The Northern Pacific officials state
that they exp-ct to resume traffic to
Seattle tomorrow.
