rights of Arthur Carr. of Middlesix. for
the manafacture of artificial rubber. li is
stated Carr received $1,250,000 for this
invention. Carr has made artificial rub
ber from wheat, corn etc. for use as bicy
cle and automobile tires which has stood
all practical tests. The new syndicate
announced today that six grades of arti
ficial rubber would be made from a liquid
solution suitable for waterproofing to a
hardness available for golf balls. In the
latter the substance is credited with the
lightness of cork and the toughness of
steel. The other grades will be used for
tires, tubes, lineleum and slihs or h.t.
for pavements. It is stated that tha r.
tificial rubber is obtained by seating any
cereal with phyalin.
