Last Wednesday evening at the Dr.
Bacon residence, Runa Bacon, Flora and
Nora Kmith entertained several of their
little friends at a masquerade party. The
visitor dressed to resemble ghosts and
with the Hallowe'en decorations and re
freshments that awaited them. It was the
general opinion that as a hallowe'en party
the event was unsurpassed in juvenile
society.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Erickson will entertain
a few of their lady and gentlemen friends
this evening.
Last Thursday evening Mrs. Brenholt
entertained a few of her; friends at a
fagot party. Au'um leaves and elder
branches were arranged tastifully to
form the decorations. Light refreshments
were served during the evening. The
evening's amuseirent ended with burning
of the fagots. As each individual guest
threw his or her fagot into the fireplace,
he related a sury, as hallowe'en stories
were especially appropriate, they were
numerous.

EAT CORN HUSKS
to get at' the corn? Of course you would
not. Then why should you take the
greasy oil of the cod's liver to get the
valuable medicinal elements contained
therein! ' ,
The oil or grease has no medicinal
virtue, but it is the medicinal elements
enveloped in the oil which represent all
the tonic and curative properties of cod
liver oil.
In Vinol you get all of the medicinal
curative elements of cod liver oil actually
taken from fresh cods' livers, but no oi
ineou is tnrown away lor the same
reason you throw away the corn husks.
Mr, Newlin of the Newlin Drug Co.,
says: "Knowing the wonderful medicin
curative and body-building properties of
Vinol, I wish every person in La Grande
who is overworked, rundown, debilitated.
every old person, every weak woman,
every sufferer with chronic colds, bron
chitis or incipient consumption would try
Vinol on our offer to return money if it
fails to benefit." Newlin Drug Co.
Note. While we are sole agents for
Vinol in La Grande, it is now for sale at
the leading drug store in nearly every
town and city in the country. Look for
the Vinol agency in your town.
