MADAOIE
Headache is most often the result of
too much or too little blood in the head.
Contraction of tissues about the neck and
shoulders, causing compression of blood
vessels and crowding of the nerves, is the
cause of acute attacks: while the chronic
variety is more often caused by misad
justment of one or more of the vetebrae
at the head of the spine, affecting nerves
which control the blood circulation.
Some headaches'are due, too. to direct
nerve pressure, being more of a neuralgic
nature; while still others are reflexes of
some other illness, such as stomach dis
order. The Osteopath can locate the
cause of the ordinary acute attack quick
ly and his manipulative work puts an end
to it at once. The chronic trouble requires
longer treatment but cure may neverthe
less be counted upon in a short time. In
headaches resulting from other illness
relief may usually be had quickly, altho
permanent cure is naturally dependent
upon the cure of the primary trouble, to
which Osteopath in such cases devotes
his chief attention.
