LA GRANDE SCHOOL
OF MUSIC
PROF. DAY, PRINCIPAL.
MRS. DAY. ASSISTANT.
This is one of the best musical in
stitutions in the state, and that
people in this city and valley are
begininng todiscover the advantage
of this school. The system is the
latest and most practical, and in
cludes all the latest discoveries in
the art of teaching music. The
school is divided into two depart
ments; No. 1 is for beginners from
5 years or more and are taught
the first three grades. Pupils come
one hour each day. This is no kin
dergarten system but far superior.
In No. 2 the grades are from 3 to
15. Here they graduate. PupTIs
take one or two lessons a week as
they desire. No scholars will be
permitted to remain in this school
who do not study.

showed that they are varsity material.
Grout played center against a 200 pound
man and demonstrated the oualitv of

POTATOES AT MEACHAM
H. N. Robinson, formerly of Pendleton
Business College but now residing on a
farm near Meacham, this year raised
about 1000 bushels of as fine potatoes as
were raised in the country. His farm is
situated on the Blue mountains at an
elavation of about 3800 feet and the
potatoes are large and well matured. He
sent a sample to town last evening by
George Peebler who also owns a fine
farm on the summit of the mountains
which produced some of the finest spec
imens of apples shown at the county fair.

Oregon students are rejoiced over the
success of the team at Moscow. News
of the victory came to the university
dormitory while the men were seated at
supper. Hardly had the score been an
nounced before every man was on his
feet shouting and cheering. Then all
relieved their feelings in a roof raising
Oregon yell. The team returned Sunday
morning and will play Willamette next
Saturday.

NOT SO SATISFACTORY
Concord Oct 29 All efforts of the
nwspaper men to interview Mrs. Eddy
failed this morning., The denials of the
printed story so far are only made by
persons, most interested In having the
sensation exploded. It was expected that
Mrs. Eddy would come forth, to check the
sensation by either appearing in public or
granting an interview.
