Healthful cream of tartar, derived solely from
grapes, refined to absolute purity, is the active
principle of every pound of Royal Baking
Powder. .
Hence it is that Royal Baking Powder
renders the food remarkable both lot its fine
flavor and healthfulness.
No alum, no phosphate-whicharethe
principal elements of the so-called cheap
baking powders and which are derived
from bones, rock and sulphuric acid.

The recently concluded agreement in
regard to the Canadian fisheries is caus
ing heated discussion troth in England and
Newfoundland, and the opinion prevails
there that Yankee shrewHne h "thing"
the lion. Such an opinion is not warrant
ed by either the facts of the present or of
history. On the contrary the recent agree
ment is considered here as only a partial
acknowledgement of our rights in the
matter. Furthermore, smce the modus
will end at the close of the fishing season,
the Canadians can gloat over the short
ness of our deserts and a long continuance
of their historic greed.
