A man was lynched by mistake in Ark
ansas a short time ago. From an Arkan
sas point of view it is a commendable
thing for a lynching committee to come
out frankly and acknowledge that it was
a little earless.
The sooner the courts settle the marital
nfelicities of the Castellanes the better
satisfied will be the American people. The
marriage of Anna Gould to the French
count has never had any pleasing
feature about it and the count's efforts to
get all the money he can get out of it,
while placing him in a contemptible light,
excites no sympatho for the silly girl
whose sole ambition was to buy a title.

increased so rapidly that only the railroad
companies can comprehend.
"The agricultural development keeps
pace with other industries. Washington,
Idaho and Oregon are increasing their
production of cereals and while wheat
has been the most important and will
continue so, yet the area of coarse grains
oats, barley, rye and Iny is increas'ng

It is stated by the Review of Reviews
that the railway mileage of the United
States and Canada under contract or
to be contracted immediately
foots up to 25.0C0. That is
enough to reach around the world if it
could bo laid in a straight line, while it
would cross the contient e'ght times.
That is a great record but it is worth
while to reflect that it will take a lot

Governor Folk of Missouri in a recent
address to the Retail Grocer's Association
spake strongly against the mail order
business and sounded the keynote of the
situation in the following paragraph:
"If a place is good enough for a man
to live and make money in, it is good en
ough for him to spend his money Jin.
Advertise in your home papers and
help to build them up. No merchant can
succeed without advertising one way or
another."
When the nut is cracked this will be
found to be the keneral spend you
money where you make it.
The more often you voice this sentiment
and practice what you preach -among
those from whom your business should
come, the sooner you will get the busi
ness. Set a good example to thoie around
you by patronizing your own locality when
ever possible.
