TONIGHT
"AH the world loves a lover" is the oft
repeated tale, and which ie partly sug
gestive of a portion of the plot of "A Mad
Love" which will be presented at Stew
ard's opera house tonight with that splen
did emotional star. Miss Maretta Smart,
and a specially engaged register of dram
atic celebrities. The play has a prologue
and three intensely interesting acts, and
is what might be termed a new edition or
modernized version of that all-time suc
cees, "Lady Audley's Secret," the work
of Miss M, E. Braddon. a world famous
literary genius. "A Mad Love" is a play
that deals with life itself, full of human in
terest, emotional, yet possessing an abun
dance of genuine comedy, and is at all

among all classes of our theatre goers,

caused from mere curios ty. occasioned by
having heard of the tremendous excite
ment that was stirred up at its initial
p.-pduction in New York City. Bjtby far

bv the inteliieent reading class of the
masses and the more refined and cultivat
ed citizens comprising the belter grade of
lovers of all that is eood in theatrical
offerings. The play of "Parsifal" essen
tially appeals to the intellect, and one
whose best enjoyment is gained through
that medium cannot find a more wortny
vehicle than "Parsifal," as presented by
Messrs. Martin and Emery'scapable company.

tertained their lady friends at Ave hund

The parlor and dining room were pretti
ly decorated with Virginia creepers, ast
ers and sweet oeas, and the living room
with asparagus fern and sweet peas.
Daintv refreshments consisting of to-
matto salad, pimolas, cheese crackers,
cake and coffee were served by the host
ess assisted by Mesdames Givan and
Van Buren and Misses Kelly, Bohnen
kamp and Bacon.
Mesdames Bohnenkamp and Morrison
were the most successful at five hundred
and were awarden pretty souvenirs.
During the evening Miss Mayme Reith
and Mrs. Jay Van Baren entertained the
guests with music.
