FAMOUS HI HENRY V1NSTRELS
Will Be In La Grande In Full Force
Next Saturday Oct. 20, Matinee and
Night.
J. C, Knapp, advance agent for the best
minstrel combination west of the Missis
sippi river, is in town and announces the
coining of the famous Hi Henry aggre
gation to this place Oct. 20, Matinee and
Night.
Of the troupe that will be at Steward s
Opera House the -Spokane Chronicle
says:
When the curtain rose upon the first
part of Hi Henry's minstrels at the Spo
kane theatre last night it displayed one
of the handsomest stage settings ever
seen with a minstrel show in this city. It
was a representation of the interior of
Aladdin s paiace, and when- iigiiieu up
with hundreds of colored lights presented
a beautiful picture of stagecraft. The
finale was a picture of Dixieland, showing
floating clouds, rising : oon. rippling wat
ers and twinkling stars and was a won
derful realistic scene.
While the Spokesman-Review says:
Hi Henry's minstrels, who opened an
engagement of two nights and a matinee
last evening, gave a clean bright musical
and humerous entertainment one in which
every feature is enjoyable. There is a
large amount of the regulation minstrelsy
about the performance, and some things
that are slightly foreign to such a show
but everything is first class. Hi Henry
himself is a feature, as a eornet soloist
will a full orchestra accompaniment
TheDaily News of Westminister, B. C.
has to 'ay as follows about the same per
farmance: The smartest show that has been seen
in New Westminister this season and by
far the most elegant anH most original
minstrel company that has ever played
here, was the unanimous verdict of the
record audience that attended the Hi
Henry minstrels in the opera house last
night.
Says the Daily Province of Vancouver:
Nor did the audience have cause to re
gret its attendance at what was certainly
the best minstrel show that has been
here in seve 1 years.
On account of the tremendious buiness
this attraction is playing to all along their
route an extra Matinee will be given at
special prices so the people from the sur
rounding country and the children may
witness the greatest attraction Hi Henry
has ever brought West. Matinee prices
will be Chiieren 2oc, adults 50c. No re
served seats.
