REASON
Why go and buy a ready made suit when I can make
you one just as cheap. Measured by an experienced
tailor as it takes years to learn how to take measures
and give a man a fit and a good suit. How can a clerk
with no experience except to go by a book form, give
you whtt you pay for?

RULES OF
The football rules as complied by Wal
ter Camp are not as radical at maiy tmnk
While the style of play is more open the
principles and generil rules are .denticii
with last year s rales.
The forward pass will not like'y be a
factor in scoring. Rauzhing the t ni back
or any o-e who has punted, is punishable
by half the distance of the goal iine. Tns
penalties are more severe than last year
is every thing and if enforced wnl do
away with much of the roughness. Tne
ends will play an important part in ad
vantancing the ball.
Fo.lowing are some of the most radical
changes, as given in Waltei Camp's rules
for 1906:
The opposing rush lines will be separ
ated by the length of the ball which must
be kept flat on the ground by the center.
There are two rush lines one on each end
of the ball.
Line men must have both feet, both
hands, or one foot and the opposite hand
up or within one foot of the line, and
with the exception of the three center
men the forwards must stand with both
ft nntttiH of th rnmn nt to thm.
Before making a fair catch a player
must signal by raising his hand clearly
over his head.
Whenever any portion of a player
carrying the ball, except his hands or
feet, touches the ground when in the
grasp of an opponent, the ball is down.
Hurdling the line or any individual, is
prohibited.
The snapperback is allowed to have hs
hands and head offside when he is about
to pass the ball.
None of the five center men will be
allowed to leave the line unless he goes
five yards back and another player taes
is paca i.i t.iilma. Wj si.fci.ij tuevajd
this rule will be allowed.
A team must gain 10 y-trds in three
downs.
When the bail is kicked, any player on
the kicking side will be on side as soon
as the ball touches the ground. Once trie
ball touches tne ground it cannot t.e
kicked further.
All forms of unnecessary roughness
have been explained and penalties pro
vided. When a p;ayer is disqualified h s
team will lose naif tne distance of its
goal line.
One and only one forwaid pass is al.o Ar
able to each soriimnaae. Tne pass sr.ail
b. made by a p.ayer w.-io was behind tne
line of scrimmage wnen tiio ball was pjt
in play and provided tne ball after oe.r
passed forwar, does n t touari tne ground
before being tcuchtd by a player of er.ner
side. The bail cannot 6e touched ty a
player who was on the line of scrimmage
but must be passed from a back fie c
player to one of the ends. A ball passed
over the scrimmage i.ne witrun five .H".s
from the center :s forbidden. Oniy fit
side which puts the ba: in play can use
the forward pass. A forward pass w,.ch
crosses lKe goal i'r.e on tne bounce .s a
touchback.
