WED
GRIFFIN In this city, Saturday, Aug
ust 18. 1 06, Mrs. Louise J. Griffin,
agec forty seven years.
Death came suddenly as on Saturday
morning she was apparently enjoying her
usual good health and was returning home
about eleven o'clock from the business
district, when she fell in front of N. K.
West's store. Med ea! aid was summoned
at once, and she was taken to the La
Grande hospital where all that could be
was done for her during the day. At
eight o'clock Saturday she succombed.
The attending physicians pronounce the
cause of death a stroke of paralysis.
.The deceased leaves three sons and one
daughter to mourn her loss. They are B.
V. Griffin, J. A. Griffin, two grown sons;
G. O. Griffin aged fourteen years, and
Mary Griffin aged eleven. The two elder
sons are member) of Co. L., O. N. G and
were in camp with the slate troops at
American Lake. They were notified at
once and arrived in this city Sunday eve
ning. Besides her children she leaves
three brothers, two in this state and one
in Kansas City, Missouri. -.
The funeral will take place tomorrow
South, Rev. Gibson, pastor of the Baptist
church, officiating. The interment will be
held in the Masonic cemetery.
The bereaved family has the truest
sympathy of the entire community at this
time of their bereavement
the young mother thinks, when she has
completed the baby garments that are to
clothe the little form. But she is not all
ready for baby's coming, unless she has
done something more fur the baby than
merely to prepare his clothes. Many a
young mother who goes through hours
of pain and suffering wonders why it was
not possible to prep ire in some way for
the baby's advent, and to avoid the
agony that seemed almost unendurable.
I)r. Pierce s Favorite Prescription ia the
one medicine for women which prepares
them perfectly, both for the burdens and
pleasures of maternity. It prevents the
morning sickness from which so many
women suf.er. It strengthens the whole
hndy, so that there is no nervousness nor
nxiety. It promotes a healthy anpe.ite
and causes refreshing sleep. It rives the
mother strength for her trial am. makes
the baby's advent practically painless.
Healthy mothers have healthy children,
and it is the general testimony of those
who have used Pr. Pierce's Favorite
Prescription as a preparutive for mother
hood, that the children were healthier
and happier than those born aitr
months of mentul misery and physical
anguish on the part of the prospective
mother.
Sick and ailing women are invited to
consult Dr. Pierce by letter absolutely
without fee or charge. As chief consult
ing physician to the Invalids' Hotel and
Surgical Institute, Huiiulo, N. Y., Dr.
R. V. Pierce, assisted by his staff of
nearly a score of physicians, has in the
past thirty years and over treated and
cured more than half a million sick anil
suffering women. The testimonials of
these cured women are on record. A
large number of them were cured when
doctors had pronounced a cure impo;si.
MS P'"! fter enduring years of useless
suffui'ug,
Let no sick women hesitate to take ad
vantage of Dr. Pierce's oner, but write
at once and so secure the pro.essionul
counsel of a' specialist in the diseases of
women, entirely free. All correspond
ence strictly private and sacredly confi
dential. Address Dr. R. V. Pierce. Buf
