instructed in all the different phases of
warfare. Fifteen million rounds of blank

the northwest states' guard and much in
terest in the outco me of the maneuvers is

The local company, about forty-five
strong, will be thoroughly equipped for 1
camp life. Each soldier carries in his
blanket roll, one pair of shoes, one change
of underwear, a comb and brush, three
pairs of stockings, and a poncho, besides
the cooking utensils in the havre sack
which includes a tin plate, knife, fork,
spoon and a cup. All will wear the
sombre shirt and kaki uniform. Urhcers
will be attired in Olive drab. '

MR. AMD MRS. JOHNSON POISONED
Late last evening Deputy Sheriff and Mrs.
i T. B. Johnson were suddenly taken violent
j ly ill, with all symstoms and pains of
poisoning. Mr. and Mrs. Jonson naa re
tired, and fallen asleep, when Mrs. John
son awoke suffering terrible pains and
her moans soon woke Mr. Johnson, who
hastily srose in an effort to alleviate her
sufferings, in some way to call a doctor,
he suddenly felt a burning pain in his
stomach. In another minute he was in
terrible agony, evidently fr:m the saxe
cause as his wife, and in a few moments
both were vom'ting violently. After many
attempts the telephone was reached and
a doctor called, who immediasely upon
his arrival relieved the pains. This was
about eleven o'clock and by two this
morning the excruciating pa ns were over
but left them very weak. Mr. Johnson
was able to go to his office today, but
Mrs. Joboson is still very low and weak
from the attack. The attending physician
it positive that the attack was due to
food poisoning, and the only thing that the
family ate the evening previous that
could possibly contain poison was a veal
loaf, and to this the cause is placed.
