Los Angeles, Aug. 8 -The rich prop
erties in the camp of Searchlight Nev. are
continueing to fall into strong hands.
Among the latest deals that is causing
great interest here was the purchase of
the Duplex Extension group, consisting of
four full claims, adjoining the Duplex
Tmine and on the same mineral lode.
The Pacific Coast Mines Bureau, pur
chased this group from the original own
ers, Moss, Allison and White, for the large
sum of $50,000 with cash payment of
$10,000.
This property is the extension of the
rich and resourceful Duplex mine that
was purchased by John Brockman and
Count Jas. Portalis six months ago for
the sum of $250,000. The Duplex is now
taking ore out of four shafts, shipping
daily, milling and running their immense
cyanide plant.
The Duplex ledge enters the Extension
ground in all of its strength and richness
and mining men h-re who have examined
the property and are thoroughly familiar
with the Duplex and also the Extension
property, express the firm co .vlction that
the larger ore hoots will be uncovered
upon the holdings of the new company.
This late deal has stirred 'represent
atives of the eastern and western invest
ors located in the camp and the extension
and nearby ground of the Extension com
pany is now greatly in demand and being
sought for.
Los Angeles capitalists are doing con
siderable toward developing this part of
Nevada and their latest investment w.ll
probably rebound to their credit. '

MINSTRELS AT THE LYRIC
In presenting Mahara's Minstrels last
night at the Lyric Manager Sherman
deserves great credit. This company is
one of the best mistrel shows that have
ever visited Calgary, and the members
are all artists in their various lines. All
the bill-board promises were fulfilled and
to spare, and the show througnout is re
fined, and indeed much above the aver
age. Balgary Press, Juiy 2nd.

A tragic finish
A watchman's neglect permitted a
leak in the great North Sea dyke, which
a child's finger could have stopped, to be
oome a runinous break, devastating an
entire province of Holland. In like man
ner Kenneth Mclver, of Vanceboro, Me.,
permitted a little cold to go unnoticed
until a traggic finish was only averted by
Dr. King's New Discovery. He writes:
"Three doctors gave me up to die of lung
inftamation, caused by a neglected cold,
but Dr. Kings New Discovery saved my
life." Guaranteed best cough and cold
cure, at Newlin Drug Co. 60c and $1.00.
