gram in an effort to locate some of her
people or some of her husband's people
who mignt be interested in the disposition
of the body, but so far he has been un
successful. He has traced her husband
from his former home In Kansas, and the
place to which he went after his exper
ience at the whipping post in Baker City,
to El Paso, Texas, and there lost track of
him. He telegraphed to Cecil's father at
Chickashaw. Indian Territory, but re
ceived neither reply nor non-delivery of
message. So far that he infers that Ce
cil's parents care nothing about the dis
position of the woman's body.

come to this district cannot remember of
having ever heard net mention the nomes
of any of her immediate relatives or their

North Yakima, Aug. 3 C. G. Elliott,
drainage expert of the United States
Agricultural Department, is in Yakima to
examine lands that have been "taken" by
alkali. He will also investigate the drain-
age work that has been done in the valley.
The agricultuial department is co-oper
ating with communities and individuals
with a view to solving the question of
"alkalied" lands. Experiments were
conducted hore three years ago by Mr.
Elliot, and it is his purpose to cont-je
them during the coming yejr.
The greatest problem in the Yakima
Valley is not how to gat enough water to
Irrigate the land, but how' to get rid of it
after it has once soaked into the ground.
