OHIO MINES EMPLOY NON-UNION MEN (Scrlpps News Association) Dillion Vale Ohio, June 9 The militia has been withdrawn today from the mining districts and the operators are employing guards. The mines will begin work next Monday with a force of non union men. The authorities have come to the conclusion the mine owners should guard the mines at their own expense. After the usual prelimin aries were out of the way, Atkinson raised a little fury by introducing a con stitutional amendment providing that San Francisco may, within a period of two years, regulate and restrict the use of its streets and establishments, the maintainance and enjoyment of any priv liges that it now enjoys. Representative Treadwall introduced a resolution where by the final passage of twenty-five bills among which was one appropriating half million dollars establishing buildings in San Francisco. After several objections the bunch of bills were finally passed. RECORERDS COURT Frank Stillwell was arraigned before Recorder Snook this morning charged with killing a couple of calves within the city limits. He was fined $5.00. Engineer L. E. Furgerson received word this morning that of his father's death, which occured at Portland yester day morning. The remains will arrive in this city toiiy. The funeral arrangements will be announced latter. The deceased was 81 years of age. The remains will be accompanied to this city by his son, C. E. Furgerson of Portland. June 9 Princess Ruth daughter of John Evans the Gypsy King will be married tomorrow to Cy Kava naugh a former gypsy but now a wealthy orange grower of Oakland California. The will provided that, in case of a contest the estate shall go to William Alvord who . is dead, William H. Crocker, James D. Phe- lan, and Joseph D. Grant.
