Petoskey, Mich., 'June 8. The Com
mercial Tiavellers of Michigan, who are
holding their state convention here, will
today attend a special performance of the
play of "Hiawatha" which 'the Objiway
Tribe of Indians is performing at wa-ya-ga-mug,
near ' this city. The Indians
played that play in the same place al
last summer fend thousands of people
were attracted ,to their camp by that in-1
teresting feature. The play is not ths
only attraction of the camp. There is
also an interesting collection of wild an
imals, an Eskimo family living in a hut of
imitation ice and snow, a Japanese tea
house inhabited by a Jspanese family, and
an Indian Museum, w icK contains many
rare and interesting curious gathered from
various Indian tribes which inhabited
Michigan.

An ordinance directing and authorizing
the Mayor and .Recorder of the City of
La Grande, Oregon, to .enter a contract
with J. L. Mars for the constructed of
two cement cross walks for the city of
La Grande, Oregon.
The city of La Grande does ordain as
follows:
Section One: That the Mayor and
Recorder of the city of La Grande, Oregon
be and they are hereby directod and
authorized to enter into a written contract
on behalf of the city of La Grande with
J. L. Mars,, for the construction of two
cement cross walks at the intersecti n
of Depot SL and Adams Ave. in accord
ance with the bid for construction and
proposition of said J. L Mars to constuct
said cement walks for the sum of $121.
each in city warrants drawn upon the
general fund of the Treasurer of the said
city of La Grande, and which bid and
proposition for construction was accepted
by the f common council of the cityjof La
Grande, Oregon, at a regular meeting
held May 2, 1906. i;
Section Two: Th.s ordinance shall be
