announcing that the Gsftnah Steamer
Soerabaya, given up it bit and removed
from the list of "QTertues" given out by
Lloyd's, had been discovered frozen in the
pack ice at Nikoii.it.fsk, near the Amur
River, ha aused considerable interest in

the growing of nuts are assembled here
in compliance with a call sent out by E.
M. Kirkpatnck, with a view of forming
the nvtgrowers of this state into a per
manent organization. The conference will
last two days and is expected to be of
great importance. Many prominent agri
culturists and other distinguished men
are in attendance and some highly inter
esting addresses will be delivered during
the two days of the conference. The
session this afternoon will be devoted to
the task of organization. Then a number
of important subjects having direot bear
ing upon the growing of various kinds of
nuts will be discussed. At the meeting
tomorrow the question of affiliating the
the new organization with the Farmers'
Congress will be considered.
