started from here today to New York. A
large crowd was present when he started
from the City Hall at eleven o'clock this
forenoon and the old man was cheered by
the crowd on his way." Three years ago
Mr. Westin was asked to walk from here
to New York in the interest of science, bat
deferred it from time to time. ' He is
now sixty-eight years old. bui believes
he can walk as fast as he could thirty
years ago. .
The late Professor R. Ogdan Doremus
was one of the physicians-who signed the
request that Mr. .Weston make the trip.
