garding the work and ruin at Berkly Cal.

We have been having experiences here.
From what I hear from the ' East the
condition of Berkley hat been greatly ex
aggerated. Aside from one or two brick
walls and some chimneys there it no

must say the devastit'on is appalling.
The keenest imagination could not get
any idea of the diter without seeing it

Application For. Grazing Permits.
Notice is hereby given that all appli
cations for permits, to graze cattler
horses, and sheep within' the Eastern
Division, of the Blue Mountain Forest
Reserve, during the season of 1 906, must
be submitted to D. B, Sheller. Forest
Superintendent, Baker City, Oregon, on o
before May 19, 1906. Full inform
ation in regard to the grazing fees to be
charged, and blank forms to be used in
making application, will pe furnished
upon request addressed to the above
named officer.
