From every part of the Second Con
gressional district comes the pleasant
report that Judge W. R. Ellis will have a
large majority for the nomination for
congress. Not a word has been heard
against him and a certain tone of popular
but positive expression assures us that
the possibilities of hit return to congrets
it very agreeable to the people of this
district.
The people of thit district were not
slow in granting that Judge Ellis was the
man best qualified at this time to send to
congress. They knew that questions of
importance to the state were awaiting
action and they want a man of experience
to meet the situation. They know that a
new man in congress can do little in hit
first term. He must get acquainted not
only with the ways of doing things, bu
takes many days for him to get on the
Inside where hit influence may be felt
and the opportunities to accomplish things
for hit ttate may be reached. Judge
Ellit it familiar with these things. He
steps into congress, If nominated and
elected, with three terms of valuable
experience at hit command and a wide
acquaintance in both the lower houte and
