WEST BIO JUBILEi MINISTRSLS,
Th. distinguished singer. Spencer
Kelly, whose ballads selections have add
ed, in no email measure to the musical
fame of the William H. West Big Jubilee
Minstrel, continued as one of the con
spicuous member of this notable organi
zation and according to reliable reports
his admirable voice power being except
ionally wall seconded this season by a
crop of vocalists, , who are more than
help sustain th. reputation of the cele
brated Weet trade mark. Those who
propose to attend the entertainment
scheduled for Stewards opera house
Saturday March 1 0 will in all probability
find .ven . something else besides a
wonderfully pleasing musical treat, for
according to authentic information the
program to be presented includes nothing
short of genuine force and novelty in

THI MOONSHINER'S DAUGHTER
Among the attractions billed for pre
sentation in the near future is the "Moon
shiner's Daughter," will be given at Ste
ward's opera house, Tuesday, March 1 3.
'' The play is recognized as one of the
very best melodrama now on the road
and has been playing to capacity business
for the past four seasons. "The Moon
shiner's Daughter" is realistic present
ation of the doing and danger bf locat
ing and destroying illicit stills by the re v
enue men in" the mountain districts of
Kentucky and Tennessee, containing, a
story of heroism and a recital of brave
deede, and exhibitions of recklessness,
e mtaje and cool nerve of the Moonshiners.
A romantic love story prevails through
out and is so cleverly combined with the
sensational features that the truly dra
matic result ie attained. Thar, are four
acte and eight scenes and each is equip
ped with a scenic enivronment from the
Mudioe of of Harry J. Buhler and W.
Fletcher Mann. Plenty of happy fun
throughout furnish smiles that wont come
off, . Specialities throughout, portra yed
by a cast that have won distinction 1 in
other prominent productions.

Alberta Gallatin in Cousin Kate at
Stewards opera house Wednesday March
Hth. v ' ;.
In "Cousin Kate" Alberta Gallatin has
found a worthy vehicle for her ultimited
talent and ability. It is without a doubt
the prettiest and cleverest society comedy
ever put on, and when it opened the
great Hudson Theatre in New York was
accorded an almost overwhelmingly gra
tifying reception, "running for a season
there and also for one in London. JThough
pure comedy, of the kind only conceived
by dramaticists once in many years, yet
it affords Miss Gallatin ample opportun
ity for a display of ' her ability as an
emotional actress, in which line of work,
especially by her work in Ibsens "Ghosts'
she has made herself famous.
The Pendleton's basket ball team will
arrive here tonight on this evening's train
so that the game will not begin until nine
o'clock, but any one who waits until that
hour to come need not to expect to get a
seat for the crowd that will probably be
there will have taken all the seats by
that time.
Hoffman, who played forward for The
Dalles college, the best on the coast, for
several seasons will play forward ,on the
Pendleton team. He will probably try to
give the La Grande fans an exhibition of
fancy goal throwing.
The other players are less well known.
The La Grande team has had good
practice for a week past and have devel
oped some fast team work.
The team which will line up will be as
follows: . Childers and T. Williams for-
ward; Allstott, center; Dunn and Zundel
guards; Falk and McKennon, subs.
herwood Williams cannot enter the
game because of a sprained ankle.
The game will be given at 9 o'clock
remember. The price will be 25 ( for
every body and the game will be a good
one.
