4 STRIKBi'SPREADINO I '- .'
St PeUreburg. Ceo. 51. Tha strike
is rapidiy spreading all over Kussia. i ne
workingmen are showing perfect dicipline
under able leaders. ' There ia ; undescrib-
able panid among tha people generally.
All feel that this is the opening of, the
last act or the national tragedy and will
result in either the downfall of tha gov
ernment or a victory for autocracy. Tne
conditions have almost reached r tha pro
portions of a civil war. It ia not proper
to call the movement a mere industrial
strike, i he financial ruin of the country
seems imminent. Many soidiers have
been arrested while addressing the people
to join the rebels'. Prices of all aupolies
are rapidly rising. Everybody Is trying to
secure the greatest amount of ' provisions
possible tn anticipation of a long siege.
Revolutionists have wrecked a train near
Riga which resulted in tha killing of five
soldiers and the wounding of 20 others.
RUSSIA IM OHAOS
Sf. Petersburg, Dec. 21. The contin

thousand Putiloff employes have struck.
All trains entering the- Baltio provinces
are being stopped. , From one the Cos
sacks were taken and disarmed.
The strike leaders at Moscow are
boasting that the strike will be trans
formed into an armed revolution . and
orators are declaring that Russia will be
drenched with blood before the struggle
is ended. Governor General Dubasoff
has moved into the late Grand Duke
Sergis palace. He has declared a re
lentless war upon the agitators.
