I r fp); and can use tupping '.B' m I i i1 iinirr "" r; ONLY TWO PARTIES IN NEXr ELECTION Things will be doing in politics very soon. A primary election in April will decide the fates of many aspirants for political honors. Several Eastern Oregon men are looking to this event with much anxiety, but the only man who is easy in his conscience and without apparent worry is C. A. Johns, the avowad can didate for governor, who has had the un heard of temerity to say through the newspapers that he was not going to make a stumping campaign and would not buy space at so much a yard. East- ern.OregDn people are anxious to secure some of the honors at the next election aid while they may have an opportunity to vote for a United States congressman to succeed Williamson should the tatter resign, they still think there are other matters in which they have just as much interest At the last general election in Oregon the vote cast entitles only the Republican and Democratic parties to representation as parties on the next state ticket All of the other parties failed to poll sufficient votes to got them a place, on the list Anybody can run independently for any state office or any local office in his pre cinct For any state office the petitioner at the primaries must have two per cent of the voters in his favor. County officers must secure three per cent of the voters. New parties, or political organizations formed with new namas and under new auspices can get on the ticket by filing petitions containing five per cent of the voters in the precinct Viewing these provisions of the state aw niusi oi ine old time politicians have withdrawn from an active campaign on the ground that life is too short to fool with politics until the fool law has been amended. Democrat Osteopithy New Hope For Dyspeptics Digestion depends upon two factors, muscular activity and glandular action. Tne first to churn the food and mix it with the fluids. Tne second, to secrete the digestive flu'ds which moisten and d ssolve the foods that the nutritious part may be separated from the waste and absorbed by the blood.' Deprive the stomach of its muscular action, the food is not mixed w th the fluids nor propelled on its way. Dsprived of its digestive fluids, the food is not softened nor digest ed. so cannot pass the pylorus, the outlet of the stomach. In either case, the food remains in the siomach to ferment decay and form noxious gases, burning pains. fullness, distress, etc. Mussular activity depends upon the nerve supply being correct. Glands se crete their fluids from the blood brought to them, and are active or torpid depend ing on the nerve force they receive. Therefore, the Osteopath labors to se cure a propsr and healthy nerve and blood supply. By so doing, he not only relieves, but cures dyspepsia.
