GERMAN TARIFF
The new German tariff which
will go into effect March 1st,
1906, increases the tariff on im
ported wheat into that eoantry
tMk . mm -
to 43 cens, 52 mill per bnsheL
There will also be a very con
siderable increase in the new
German tariff on wheat floar
and moat of the articles exported
from the United SiaUs to Ger
many. Germany has been a
good customer 1 1 purchase
wheat from onr eoantry. bat of
1st she his not been purchas
ing very much of oar wheal
For the eight months euding
with August 1905 we exported
to Germany 6,945,723 bushels of
wheat valued at $5,441,041. For
eight month mi
a sf. cri ErJ
bashels of wheat valoed at tl,-
30290 and ia the eight
months endinc with Anrast
1905 oar exports of wheat to
Germany amocnted to bat S3,
000 busbeU valoed at $74,600.
It will be remembered that
tke price of wheat in 1903 was a
f faction over 73 cents per bushel
and ia lM it w as but a small
fraction ovtr SO cents a bushel
and in 1905 the ptiee of wheat
for the same eight months was
nearly S5 cents per bosheL
From the above figures it
woold seem that the cheaper
oar wheat is the more Germany
purchases. The effort of a
tariff that adds 25cenU.S mill
to the coat nf a boihel of wheat
unloaded from the U S in Ger
many may be guessed at 1 1.

But not Cheap Meat
Having purchased the Bock

Hull Market, we are in position,
with the three ahope, to furnish
our patrons witn choice meats
at a lees price than if we bad

intention to raise the price of

reduce the prie, and thereby
hope to increase oar trade.
A trial order will convince yon
