Lewie end Clard exposition this morn
ing. The session will continue for
three days and are attended by dele
gates representing all tbe principal
railroads in the United States. The
Eastern delegates arri?ed yesterday
afternoon on a special train and were
entertained last atoning by the Com
- meroial Club.
The morning hour of the opening
day were occupied with speeches of
welcome by Mayor Lane, President
Goode of the exposition and A L Craig
general passenger agent of tbe Oregon
Railroad A Navigation Co. Responses
were made by A M Cleland, general
passenger sgent Northern Pacifio, 8 K
Hooper; general passenger agent Den
ver & Rio Grande, and others . The
convention will deal with subjects pre
