and people were entertaioed by Miller
Brothers, at tbe 101 ranch Sunday, the
visit of tbe National Editorial . Asso
ciation to the ranch being made tbs
occasion for the bnffilo hunt, a bnffa
lo dinner and sn Indian celebration.
Tbe editors, many of whom were ac
companied by ladies, arrived on the
ranch at 11 o'clock ever the Uanta Ke
in a special train.
The general putlic had been invited
to the entertainment. The Sent Fe
rail road, which runs through the rsnch,
carried 20.000 people to 101, and as
many more drove in to attend tbe
show, An Immense grandstand ex
tendirg around the arena was built
for the visitor i. The arena itself was
halt a mile long and a third of a mile
wide., To handle the crowd required
nearly 200 passenger eosohej.
The Poncaand Otoe Indians, whose
lands are being allotted, had planned
celebration to take place some time
during the spring, to which they ex
peeled to invite all the other Indians
In the territory to help them celebrate
the dissolution of their tribsl territory.
This was arranged to take plate at the
same time of the editor's vie!',.
The rnnoh bought 35 bead of bnffalo
in Montana, and planned a buffalo
chsss by .ti e Indians. Each one of tbe
epeoial guests, snd there were not less
than 2000, was served wit i a piece of
buffalo meat In connection with the
dinner. Beside the buffalo, the pro-

roping and riding contests, Indian
dances, a stage robbery and a minia
ture reproduction of the rush into the
Cherokee Strip. Tbe program also In
cluded a parade beginning with tbe
Indians, attired in paint and featheis,

mobile.
Mississippi Flood
Hannibal, Mo , June 13 The flood
on tbe Mississippi has spread over all
the Isw lands end is five to eight miles
wide between hefe and Keokuk. ' Near
Alexandria, Mo., a farmer was
drowned and seven other persons are
reported missing. Tbe lodtof livestock
has been heavy and many caicaiaes are
floating past Hannibal. The - flood
came so suddenly that " many fartne'S

All available boats are making trips
up and down the river rescuing persons
who escapeil to higher land. At IJan
