Los Angeles, Cal. March 28 -The per
footed plans of a jail delivery to release
the prl oners on the second floor of
the oounty jail were dlsoorered this
morning. Mrs O K Bchmlgt, the wile
of a wealthy Long Branch contractor,
under sentence of aeven years tor
burglary, smuggled flies, saws and
money Into the prison for her husband
and tha other prisoners in the plot.
This morning the woman appealed for
an extension of ten days for her hus
band's removal to tha penitentiary,
the tlma baring arrived for the re
moval. The request was granted, bat
soon afterwards the plot was discover
ed. Schmidt will be sent to tha peni
tentiary at once. -
At Welser, Idaho, Walter Grimmett
has been acquitted of the charge of
changing brands. It was a hotly con
tested case, and the jury was out ati
hours.
