Osteopathy is a method of treating
disease by manipulation the purpose
and result of which is to restore the
normal condition of nerve control and
blood supply to every organ of tbe
body, by removing physical obstruct
ion, or by stimulating or inhibiting
tunotioual activity aa the oonditlon
may require.
By the term physical obstruction
we mean any direct Interference to the
nutritive or functional fluids or foroea
of the organ, as pressure upon a vessel
or nerve by an abnormal condition ol
some denser tissue of the body. This
will out off the nerve foroe and affect
the blood supply. Either of these may
result in produolng an abnormal (unc
tion of some organ or organs, and
tbna lead to a diseased condition.
Osteopathy achieves its chief results
through the nervous system.
