The Observer will give the following statements taken from page 4186 of the Monthly Summary of Commerce and Finance issued by the United States Department of Commerce and labor for April 1904, being the last of the series published at this time. In the table show ing the imports and exports of domes'ic and foreign merchan dise for the montb of April, 1904, aud for the ten months ending with April 1904 on the page above cited the business transacted at the several Pacifio ports are given as follows: For the the ten months ending with April 1904 the import to Alaska were $505,354 and the exports for the same product were $1,377,217. For the same ten months Hawaii imported $2,699,346 worth of stuff, aud exported 32,688 worth. I During the ten months end ing with April 1904 there were from California $34,278,113 worth of stuff tu foreign countiies and imported there from $30,247,668 worth of things. For the sume ten months Washington state imported 9,606,620 worth of foreign and douiostio goods, and for the same time exported $20,240,439 w rth. Oregon imported, during the leu months ending with April 1904, domestic and ioreign taerchaudise to the Value- of $2,031,8,18, and for the same time exportiid $7,230,807 worth. The total imports from tie Pacific ports for the ten months were $18,269,219 and the exports were 153, 596,325. During the teu months under review, the last we have official figures for Portland imported $1,997,340 worth of domestic and foreign merchandise and for the same period exported $7,168,661 worth and for the same period the imports receiv ed at the ports on Puget sound were valued at $9,606,620 aud the exports at $20,240,439.
